UK falconer awarded 2017 Conservationist of the Year
THE UK falconer Jemima Parry-Jones has been awarded 2017 Conservationist of the Year at the Animal Hero Awards.
Parry-Jones, the daughter of the great Philip Glasier and one of the most famous personalities in world falconry, received the honour for her tireless work on vulture conservation in Asia. This is one of the most serious raptor-conservation issues on the planet at the moment. The use of veterinary diclofenac has seen a population decline faster than the dodo in some species of gyps vultures.
