Hoo’s Woods Raptor Center
About Us
Hoo's Woods Raptor Center is a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501 (c) 3 charitable organization, dedicated to environmental education and conservation of birds of prey through public education. Their message is to provide an educational opportunity to understand and appreciate the co-existence between wildlife and man and the importance in preserving the world in which we live. They teach about raptors, the environment and other ecological concerns explaining how all things are connected and what you can do to help.
Dianne Moller, executive director, is a native of Southern Wisconsin and founded Hoo's Woods Raptor Center in 1998. She is a licensed educator, master falconer, rehabilitator and eagle handler through state and federal agencies. Dianne also serves as Public Relations Officer for the North American Falconer's Association and was a founder of the International Women’s Working Group for the International Association of Falconry. She has represented the U.S. at the International Falconry Festival in the Middle East in 2011 and 2014. In April 2015, she was awarded Wildlife Conservationist of the Year by the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation.
Last year we added on to our facility, presented 87 raptor education programs to the community, went through 5,000 lbs of food and educated over 25,000 people. This year we have already doubled the number of programs compared to this time last year. We also offer a Raptor Day Camp for Kids which has been a big success.
All of this is made possible through the generous contributions of our supporters.
